OnePlus Concept One Phone With Disappearing Camera – CES 2020

OnePlus is all set to unveil its concept phone with disappearing camera in the CES 2020 event. This is a new prototype phone from OnePlus and they have named it as OnePlus Concept One.

The company had teased a video featuring the concept one phone. As per the teaser, the phone comes with a disappearing/invisible camera on the back and the colour-shifting glass technology. Also, we can see that the new concept phone has the 3 camera setup on the back with a flashlight.

According to WiredOnePlus is working with British automotive manufacturer McLaren to take the same glass technology found in high-end car sunroofs and aircraft windows and use it in a smartphone.

According to OnePlus ForumsThe glass on the OnePlus Concept One uses organic particles to create various tints in colour when subject to an electrical field. When a different voltage is applied, the light transmission properties are altered, allowing the glass to shift back and forth from transparent to translucent. The technology is currently used in the aviation and high-end automobile industries to greatly reduce glare, such as on the windows of the Boeing 787s and the McLaren 720s. By leveraging this dynamic glass solution, the OnePlus Concept One is able to maintain a clean and unbroken back cover while simultaneously delivering a premium and unobtrusive hand-feel experience to its users.

In the meanwhile, based on the naming of the phone, I suspect OnePlus is going to launch Concept Phones every year going forward. Lets wait and watch.

Here is the rough sketch of the new OnePlus Concept One Phone.
