Wi-Fi Calling is one of the notable feature available in selected smartphones. It allows you to make and receive phone calls using the Wi-Fi Connection in low or no cellular coverage areas.
In India, this feature started rolling out last month by the Major telecom operators Airtel and Jio. Airtel has already made this feature live for all the customers with compatible handsets in many states across India. Jio has started testing this feature in selected cities.
Coming to the compatibility, Wi-Fi Calling facility is available only on selected handsets of the smartphone companies. Apple is one of the companies which has this feature available on most of its handsets.
How To Enable Wi-Fi Calling in iPhone:
Step 1: On Your iPhone, Open Settings and then go to Phone.
Step 2: Under Phone Menu, Open Wi-Fi Calling.
Step 3: Tap the Toggle Button on Wi-Fi Calling on This iPhone to Enable this feature.
If Wi-Fi Calling is available, you’ll see Wi-Fi after your carrier name in the status bar. Then your calls will use Wi-Fi Calling.
