Google Trips App Shutdown Scheduled For August

Google Trips is a trip planner app by Google and it was launched 2 years back (September 19, 2016) for both Android and iOS platforms. In June 2019, Google officially announced that the support for the Google Trips app will end on August 5, 2019.

Google Trips App Shutdown:

According to Google,

Support for the Google Trips app will end on August 5, 2019. Until then, you’ll still be able to access and email all of your trip reservations and notes as normal. – Google Trips Support Page

They have also stated that the features of the Google Trips App will be available on Google Search and Google Maps.

Google Search:

To find personal Trips information in Search, such as notes and saved places, you must sign in to your Google Account.

You can find Things to do in a destination, Trip reservations and Add/edit notes (coming soon) by navigating to google.com/travel. Soon, you’ll be able to find your notes from the Google Trips app in your trips at Google Travel. You’ll also be able to add or edit notes at the bottom of upcoming and past trips.

Google Maps:

To use most Trips features in Maps, you’ll need the Google Maps app. Things to do in a destination, saved places and trip reservations(Coming soon) will be available in Google Maps.
