How to Center Taskbar Icons in Windows 10

The Taskbar is an element that is used to display useful information like start menu, open applications, system tray icons and is located at the bottom of the screen by default. You can also change the position of the taskbar to any 4 sides as well.

It allows you to launch programs, pin frequently used programs, view notifications, view programs that are currently active and more. Today we’re going to take a look at how we can center the icons in the Taskbar when most of us bored on the same taskbar alignment.

How to Center Taskbar Icons in Windows 10:

Step 1: Make sure the Lock Taskbar option is unchecked.
Right-click anywhere on the taskbar and uncheck the Lock Taskbar option.

Step 2: Creating a new Toolbar.
Right-click anywhere on the taskbar, now choose the option Toolbar > New Toolbar.

Now you’ll be prompted to choose a folder, browse to any directory on your system, for example, Documents.

Create a new folder with any name you prefer (Shortcut: Ctrl+Shift+N) and then select the folder and click Select Folder.

Step 3: The Finale
You should now see the folder name appear in the Taskbar. Click on the || near the newly created folder and drag it to the extreme left of the Taskbar.

If you did that correctly, then the Desktop icons should snap to the place where you dragged it from.

Now, Click on the || and drag it to the middle of the screen and place it where you like.

Okay now, how do I get rid of the name in the taskbar?
Right-click on the name and uncheck the options Show Text and Show Title.



Finally, Lock the taskbar again by Right-clicking anywhere on the Taskbar and checking ✅ the Lock Taskbar option.

Now, you have all your icons neatly centred and visually appealing, and you know how to centre your icons in Windows 10!

If you do want to go back to the default settings, just Right-click on the Taskbar and choose Toolbar and uncheck the folder you created, this change will make the icons go back to their default location.
