A Refreshed Look for the Android’s Brand Alongside with Android 10

Google has officially announced a brand new refreshed look for its brand Android. After 2014, the logo was updated now with a more modern and accessible look.

The design of the logo draws inspiration from the most recognizable non-human member of the community, the Android robot. The robot belongs to everyone in the community and has long been a symbol of the fun and curiosity at the heart of Android. Now, it has a special place in our logo.  – Google

The Green color letters in the logo were now changed to black, as Google states that the green color was hard to read, especially for people with visual impairments.

Alongside with the new logo announcement, Google has made another important announcement which is the change in the naming of the Android Version releases. Yes, Google is renaming the Android Versions from Dessert names to number. Android Q will be called as Android 10. So no more Dessert names for the Android Versions from Android Q.

As a global operating system, it’s important that these names are clear and relatable for everyone in the world. So, this next release of Android will simply use the version number and be called Android 10.  – Google

The new logo will be updated in the final release of Android 10 which is expected in a few weeks.

So Say Goodbye to the dessert names for the Android Versions. In this occasion, I would like to recall the Android Codenames.
