How to Enable Google Chrome’s Dark Mode on Windows 10

Chrome users, you might aware that Chrome 74 was rolled out for Windows, Mac, and Linux operating system. This new version makes the introduction of a new dark mode for Windows 10 users. As you remember, the dark mode was introduced for macOS with Chrome 73.

According to the latest update, Chrome 74 on Windows 10 can able to switch to dark mode if the dark mode is enabled on your Windows 10 operating system.

Also, the new dark mode update is rolled out for a small number of users across the world and according to the Chrome community manager, the update will be rolled out for all the users as soon as possible.

Without any delay, let’s have a look on Chrome Dark Mode in Windows 10.

Before you check on dark mode, make sure your Chrome version on Windows 10 is updated to version 74 (exactly 74.0.3279.108 official build). Chrome 74 is available to download from Google’s Chrome official site, or navigate to help > About Chrome if you’re already using the Chrome browser.

How to Enable Google Chrome’s Dark Mode on Windows 10:

Step 1: To Enable Dark mode on Google Chrome, On your Windows 10 navigate to Settings > Personalization > Colors.

Step 2: Scroll down to app mode at the last and choose your default app mode as Dark.

Google Chrome will automatically switch to the Dark mode and also revert back when the light mode is chosen.

You can also enable the dark mode on Google Chrome without altering your Windows 10 theme to Dark. Let’s see how

How to Enable Google Chrome’s Dark Mode Without Altering Windows 10 Theme to Dark:

Step 1: First Find the shortcut you use to launch the Chrome Browser on your Windows 10 PC and open its Properties window.

Step 2: Add –force-dark-mode to the end of the target location and hit OK.

Step 3: Relaunch the Chrome and it will be open in Dark Mode without altering your Windows 10 theme to Dark.
